MUMBLES AND GOWER TOURIST INFORMATION CENTRE
Information Gateway to Mumbles, Swansea Bay and Gower
At the heart of Mumbles Tourist Information Centre’s operation is ‘Information’. Highly trained staff, who comply with Visit Wales regulations, are on hand to answer any and every question about not only the immediate area, but the whole of Wales. Consequently, the Mumbles Tourist Information Centre consistently scores highly in the Visit Wales annual ”mystery visitor” tests.
Accommodation provision is of course a major facet of the centres work, and personal visitors will be advised on where to stay and can be booked in at the time of their request, both locally and nationwide.
Tickets for the theatre and concerts in Swansea may be obtained at the Tourist Information Centre, in addition to local concerts and events. Steamer Tickets (South Wales to North Devon) are also available. A good selection of maps, cards, guides and special interest books and a variety of local arts and craftwork may also be purchased.
Mumbles Tourist Information Centre was established in 1976. The brainchild of a group of local business people, Mumbles Tourist Information Centre was established to promote tourism business in the Mumbles area, and to serve the needs of visitors and residents alike.
The Tourist Information Centre has always been managed by a voluntary Management Committee and operated as a not for profit-making organization. Running costs are met through sales, fund-raising and discretionary grants from such bodies as the City and County of Swansea, Mumbles Community Council and First Cymru. Since 2004 the Gower Walking Festival has been a successful enterprise of the centre.
During 2013, the Centre has been renamed as Mumbles and Gower Tourist Information Centre to reflect the great amount of information we have available on the Gower peninsula.
